The journey

This is the core Tamri International family safari: Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro in six days. It gives first- time visitors the iconic northern Tanzania experience while keeping the vehicle private so the family can control stops, photography time and the pace of game drives. The route is naturally more active than the five-day family safari because reaching the Serengeti requires a longer transfer. It is best for families whose children are comfortable with road travel. For younger children or families wanting more lodge time, the seven- or eight-day versions are preferable.
Why this works for families: Covers Tanzania's three most requested northern safari areas. Private vehicle keeps the schedule family-led rather than group-led. Two Serengeti nights provide a meaningful wildlife experience. Can be upgraded with larger family rooms or premium lodges.

Arusha
Meet at the airport and transfer to Arusha. The day is kept free of major safari activity to reduce travel fatigue and give the family time to prepare for the road journey. Meals: Breakfast if applicable.
Tarangire
Drive to Tarangire and spend the day on a private game drive among baobabs and riverine habitats. Breaks can be adjusted around the family's comfort and the guide's knowledge of productive wildlife areas. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tarangire
Travel through the highlands toward Serengeti. This is a longer road day, so the journey is treated honestly as a transfer-and-game-drive day rather than a separate full Serengeti safari. Once inside the park, wildlife viewing continues en route to camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Serengeti
Spend a full day in the Serengeti with a flexible private game-drive plan. Families can choose an early start with a longer midday lodge break or a continuous safari with picnic lunch. The guide follows current wildlife movement rather than a fixed checklist. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Ngorongoro
Enjoy a final Serengeti game drive before travelling toward the Ngorongoro highlands. The afternoon becomes progressively cooler as the route climbs toward Karatu or the crater area. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Ngorongoro
Descend into the crater for the final wildlife experience, then return to Arusha. The guide will coordinate the crater duration with the family's onward flight or hotel plan so the final day is not rushed. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
